YES!
Greg good afternoon to you and your family,
It’s Bob Beeman here from Gold Bar-BQ in Washington State. First I would like to say I appreciate the time and energy you put into the BBQ Central Show my wife and I listen or watch, learn and enjoy the show just about every Tuesday. Also we thank your family for understanding the obligation it takes to create the show. I know it take its toll on all of you for the many hours it takes just to produce a single show each week. I also appreciate the numerous guest that share insight and give their time to the show.
With the competition barbeque season starting up here in the Northwest I like the suggestion for an upcoming BBQ Central Show "Round Table" how to put together a BBQ team?
For the most part I have always been an independent one man team. With support help from my wife Dawn. But as I get lower & slower myself I can see the many advantages to having a team to help carry the weight of the hundreds of details and dollars that go into competition barbeque. How do teams handle everything from per competition to post competition? From shopping, getting gear and supplies together, tracking cost from travel expanses to meat and ever miscellaneous cost and splitting cash awards, who take the ribbons and trophy’s home. Clean and packing up

1. Competition Not Complementary Action
2. Conflict – Becoming the Norm
3. Cumulative Money Problems
4. Control Issues
5. Changing Vision
6. Communication Breakdown
1) Ego and power issues
2) Lack of Communication in future Vision
3) No clearly written goals or contribution requirements

That resonated with me Friday at Soslam in Knoxville when Jeff Bullas said, whatever it is that you want to do...."Start, don't wait until you're perfect".

Just a clarification: When you hold, you have to hold it at 145 degrees. Holding does not mean you let it cool down for 5 minutes. I am more risk adverse so I hold it at 145 degrees for a full 10 minutes which is double the Juneja 2007 Study recommended time.
