Greg Rempe has been a grilling for most of his life. His love for live-fire cooking started at a young age, watching his dad grill out for the family.
Through high school and while attending college at Ohio University, Greg continued to hone his grilling skills. After graduating, he discovered a new passion that would completely consume him, low and slow barbecue.
In 2004, Greg founded the BBQ Central internet forum, which quickly became one of the biggest online communities dedicated to barbecue and grilling (sold forum in 2013). In 2006, he launched The BBQ Central podcast, which rapidly became one of the most downloaded shows in the genre.
In 2008, Greg decided to take his podcast to the next level by turning it into a “live” show and stream it on the internet for the world to hear. In order to make that happen, The BBQ Central Show partnered with audio and business visionary, Sam Hasson, the creator of LA Talk Radio. After a few conversations on what technology would be needed to get the audio feed from Cleveland to Los Angeles, the live show was officially launched on February 7, 2008.
As a host, Greg has access to all of the most prominent personalities in the live-fire industry. He is widely considered to be the industries leading opinion maker and he has been nominated for The Barbecue Hall of Fame (yes, it’s a thing) many years in a row (no luck getting inducted yet). Greg isn’t afraid to share his own opinions and insights nor is he afraid to ask the tough questions that need to be asked!
